Full-Scale Treatment Programs
Full-scale
treatment programs usually follow bench scale and/or pilot
treatment programs and consist of two treatment phases: a primary
phase and a polishing phase.
Full-scale applications range
in size and duration dependent upon the contaminant mass, the
amount of oxidant to be injected, and the time associated with
its delivery. The design of each full-scale treatment is adapted
in order to achieve the site-specific goals of our clients.

The primary phase of treatment is designed to effectively
reduce contaminant concentrations across a site. The primary
phase of treatment typically achieves 90% reductions from baseline
conditions (source removal is typical). GCI also includes the
design of a polishing treatment in its costing in the event
that impacts in some areas on site were not reduced enough
to meet treatment goals.
Polishing treatments follow the primary
phase of treatment and focus on treating specific hot spot
areas that were not fully remediated during the primary phase.
A polishing treatment is about 10% of the size of the primary
treatment. |
