The Midwest Energy Association (MEA) is hosting their annual Environmental Learning Summit in Cincinnati, OH. The conference will consist of three days of technical presentations and networking opportunities. The topics for this year’s agenda consist of Manufactured Gas Plants (MGPs), remediation and an environmental communication roundtable.

Field Trip – Aurora MGP Site Tour 
Tuesday, April 18, 2017  |  12:15 pm – 4:30 pm
Visit an active MGP remediation site in Aurora, Illinois. The site is located in a commercial/residential area and is bifurcated by the Fox River. During the tour, earth retention installation, water management, reactive barrier matt placement, and excavation of impacted materials to bedrock will be in process. Attendees are required to have close-toed shoes. Attendees are requested to bring their own hard hat and safety vest. Transportation provided. Pre-registration required.

Gangster Tour and Dinner 
Wednesday, April 19, 2017  |  5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Utilities $0  |  Non-utilities $125 per person; non-utility attendees must select this as an additional item when registering in order to participate in tour.
Join us for a comfortable, two-hour, interactive ride through the history of Chicago’s gangster days in the famed Prohibition Era of the 1920s and 1930s. See the mob’s old hotspots and learn about the wild jazz-age exploits of famous gang members Capone, Moran, Dillinger, and more. Attendees remain on the bus for the duration of the tour. Dinner and networking at a downtown Chicago restaurant to follow. Transportation, guided tour, and dinner all included. Casual attire. Pre-registration required.
