Permitting
After the treatment program is designed and the
contracts issued, permits must be researched and
applied for. Each site is subject to different state
and federal rules and regulations, thus permitting
is typically the responsibility of the client.
Work Plan
During the permitting process, GCI develops a site-specific
work plan that details the treatment program. The
work plan describes the exact procedures that will
be followed by GCI during the treatment program.
It includes:
- The injector installation including:
- Injector spacing and grid design
- Screened intervals of the injectors
- Injector construction (materials)
- The injection activities, including:
- Mobilization
- Injection
- Reagent Proportioning
- Reagent Concentrations
- Injectable volume per day
- Process Monitoring
- Pre- and Post-Treatment Sampling and
Analytical frequency
- Demobilization
- A final report be provided to the client
following the treatment program.
In addition to the injection work
plan, a site-specific health and safety plan is developed
for the site. This document is developed based on
the characteristics of the contamination at the site
and the concentrations of contaminants at the site.
It will include hospital route information, contact
numbers, MSDS, and various other health and safety
procedures to follow while on-site.
